Now, in Starbound, if you somehow destroy the existing grass or just change the terrain, the new dirt won't have grass. If there is no grass adjacent to it and you want grass to take it over, you either can plant grass seeds or you can make a dirt connection to somewhere that has grass and wait for it to grow. For anyone that don't know how it works on Terraria, grass tiles keep growing to adjacent dirt tiles if they're not with grass (let's say you just put those dirt blocks there).
